Xcel Energy, Inc. is seeking an Operations Instructor to design and deliver training across operator programs, including non-licensed and licensed operators, and to support outage activities.

The role emphasizes collaboration with instructors and compliance with accredited processes and NRC requirements. The position requires presenting material to varied class sizes, maintaining certifications, and contributing to program improvements.

Qualifications

• RO or SRO license or SRO Certification preferred.
• Experience with power plant operations; other technical disciplines beneficial.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to present training to varied class sizes.
• Strong organizational and administrative abilities.
• Self-motivated; able to work independently or with teams.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and design training for all operations training programs including non-licensed operator, licensed operator, Shift Manager and Shift Technical Advisor training.
• Develop and conduct training in the classroom and/or simulator for all operator training programs; develop and administer examinations.
• Pursue qualifications to support operator training programs (e.g., general instructor, simulator booth operator, SRO certification) and maintain SRO when qualified.
• Assist with self-assessments and evaluations of operator training programs.
• Assist with in-processing for contract employees for plant outages.
• Support plant refueling outages by transitioning to plant staff during lengthy outages.
• Function as a member of the site Emergency Response Organization (ERO).
