University of Washington seeks a Power Plant Mechanic to join the Central Power Plant and West CUP facility. You will inspect, maintain, and repair high‑capacity boilers, turbines, pumps, and associated systems, ensuring safe, reliable operation across campus facilities.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, equipment alignment, and on-call support for emergencies. Strong journey‑level skills in piping, steam, fabrication, and electrical distribution are required.

Qualifications

• Journey-level machinery repair, pipefitting, steamfitting, welding, rigging, carpentry, machining, plumbing knowledge.
• Ability to follow preventive maintenance schedules and safety protocols.
• Good communication and teamwork for operations and emergencies.

Responsabilités

• Inspect, maintain, and repair UW Power Plant systems.
• Install, maintain piping for steam, chilled water, condensate, fuels, or compressed air.
• Operate shop equipment to fabricate parts and support maintenance tasks.
• Respond to emergencies and support on-call or standby requirements.
