Job summary

Madison Gas and Electric is seeking an Electrical Engineer/Project Manager to support engineering for capital and O&M projects at our Madison, WI power generation facilities. The role involves testing, studying protective settings, and coordinating with IT for control devices and software licenses.

Onsite at Madison power plant locations, you will ensure compliance with NERC standards, manage documentation, and lead or assist in root cause analyses of equipment failures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an accredited four-year university.
• Experience reading, interpreting, and developing electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
• Experience with utility electrical and controls systems preferred.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support and project management for capital projects, including development, cost estimation, scope identification, and commissioning.
• Troubleshoot and resolve operating and maintenance problems involving plant equipment.
• Coordinate with internal/external entities to manage project scope, schedule, and budget.
• Lead tests to collect data, analyze results, and make recommendations.
• Perform studies on load flow, arc flash, and protective settings for generation facilities.
• Maintain and improve documentation for control systems and networks.
