Job summary

Dominion Energy is hiring for a Power Plant E&I Mechanic Apprentice/Journeyman at Williams Station. The role covers troubleshooting, installation, operation and maintenance of instrumentation, control and electrical systems within the plant.

It requires knowledge of electrical and instrumentation & controls, with duties spanning PLCs, valves, transmitters, and related equipment. The position emphasizes hands-on troubleshooting, project work, and occasional vendor coordination.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
• 1–3 years electrical/instrumentation experience for Apprentice/Journeyman.
• Strong troubleshooting skills; Windows software knowledge.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to work in confined spaces and wear a respirator.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, install, operate and maintain instrumentation and controls.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment, circuits, valves, and PLCs.
• Read diagrams and perform transmitter calibration.
• Lead small projects and coordinate with vendors.
• Work overtime and respond to call outs as needed.
• Work in plant environments with heavy lifting and heights.

Job Summary

Dominion Energy South Carolina (DESC) is hiring. Williams Station is currently looking for an Apprentice/Journeyman. There is one position which will be filled at the level commensurate with the successful candidate’s education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities.,

This position:

• Requires knowledge in Electrical and Instrumentation & Controls.
• Is responsible for troubleshooting, installation, operation and maintenance of instrumentation & control and electrical equipment and systems within the plant.
• Performs instrumentation troubleshooting and maintenance, electronic circuit board diagnostics, print and logic diagram reading, transmitter repair and calibrations, control valve repair and calibrations with DVC’s, Allen Bradley 5000 PLC systems, hydraulic systems and pneumatics.
• A requires the ability to maintain and troubleshoot electro-mechanical and microprocessor devices and relay logic.
• Include troubleshooting, installation, operation and maintenance of electrical power systems, low and medium voltage switchgear, AC/DC motors and starters/contactors, as well has electrical conduit and stainless-steel tubing installation.
• Performs routine electrical and instrumentation maintenance activities as needed.
• May also serve as new project lead to assist with other E&I Technicians and/or contractors.
• Will also be responsible for new vendor communications.

Pay for this position ranges from $32.66 to $46.60 per hour based on experience.

Minimum Requirements (Note: A partial year of related work experience of 6 months or greater will be considered one year towards the qualifications):

• A minimum of 1-3 years of related electrical, instrumentation and controls work experience with strong troubleshooting skills is required.

Electrician & Instrumentation Journeyman

• A minimum of 10 years of related electrical, instrumentation and controls work experience with strong troubleshooting skills is required.

Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities for Both Levels:

• Experience operating personal computers and a fundamental knowledge of Windows based software.
• A valid driver’s license.
• Good physical condition and ability to work in confined spaces including the ability to wear a respirator and maintain annual respirator qualification.
• This position requires heavy lifting and climbing tall structures at extreme heights.
• The position is subject to overtime and expected to respond to call outs.
• Ability to work during inclement weather.

Education Requirements

Completion of high school or equivalent (i.e., GED) is required.

An associate degree in a related field of study or the equivalent is preferred.

Licenses, Certifications, or Quals Description

Must have a valid driver's license with a safe driving history.
