Job summary
CAM Integrated Solutions, LLC is seeking a Power Plant Cycle Performance Engineer in Houston, TX to maximize efficiency, heat rate, and operational flexibility for simple cycle and combined cycle plants. You will apply advanced thermodynamics, modeling, and data-driven optimization to improve economic value.
You will lead cycle optimization, advanced modeling, data analytics, and retrofit support while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and OEMs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Energy Engineering or related field.
- 7+ years of experience in power plant engineering, performance analysis, or cycle modeling.
- Strong thermodynamics, heat transfer, and cycle integration expertise.
- Experience with GT PRO, Thermoflow, EBSILON, and Aspen.
- PE license preferred.
Responsibilities
- Lead thermodynamic cycle optimization for combined cycle and simple cycle plants.
- Develop and maintain detailed models and conduct sensitivity analyses.
- Analyze SCADA/DCS data to identify performance gaps and degradation trends.
- Support design upgrades (turbine, HRSG, cooling) and retrofit projects.
- Lead performance testing and validation per ASME PTC standards.
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, I&C, operations, OEMs and partners.
