Job summary

Essity is seeking an experienced Boiler Operator to oversee powerplant operations in Middletown, OH. The role involves safe and efficient management of a natural gas boiler, water filtration systems, and adherence to safety, housekeeping, quality, and productivity standards.

The ideal candidate may reside in Middletown and should be comfortable with rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays, supporting continuous improvement initiatives within a large global health and hygiene company.

Qualifications

• Active Ohio Boiler Operator’s License is required.
• Industrial environment experience preferred.
• Experience working with a gas boiler.
• Able to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work at heights.

Responsibilities

• Maintain daily reports for power plant safety and boiler production.
• Operate and inspect air compressors, valves and feeders.
• Monitor Capstone data and boiler trends.
• Perform water treatment and environmental sampling per requirements.
• Support safety, housekeeping, quality and productivity standards.

About the Role

Essity is looking for an experienced Boiler Operator to oversee the Powerplant operations in a safe and efficient manner including: water filtration systems and a natural gas boiler, while supporting our high standards of safety, housekeeping, quality, and productivity.

The ideal candidate should/could live in Middletown, OH.

What You Will Do

• Maintains, records and e-mails daily reports for power plant safety, environmental and boiler production


• Maintains and publishes data entry reports on Capstone


• Operates and makes rounds to check air compressors, all PP, PRV, Vent Valves and mill main feeder breakers


• Monitors capstone trending of Boiler


• Monitors and maintains RO system or softeners as needed


• Regenerates all Zeolite filters as needed


• Completes daily water, condensate and effluent testing and reports results


• Completes environmental testing and recording for daily/ monthly NPDES requirements as needed


• Makes appropriate chemical additions to boiler make-up water as needed


• Monitors deep wells, completes rounds and collects and records data as needed

Who You Are

• High School Diploma or GED


• Must have active Ohio Boiler Operator’s License


• Experience working in an industrial environment preferred


• Experience working with a gas boiler


• Desire to work in a team based environment


• Ability to safely perform tasks in a fast paced, heavy industrial environment


• Ability to stand, reach, and twist in a heavy industrial environment


• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds . climb ladders, walk distances, work at heights on platforms, work in tight or closed spaces


• Ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays
