Job summary

NextEra Energy Resources is seeking an experienced Central Maintenance Planner to support its High Voltage Operations. The role focuses on scheduling, planning/procurement, estimating and executing high voltage maintenance activities across wind and solar facilities, overhauls and outage support.

The position requires strong organizational, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills, with travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

• Experience with asset management software (IBM Maximo or similar).
• Working knowledge of Transmission and Substations design.
• Proficiency in technical writing and procedure writing techniques.
• PMI Project Management Certification (preferred).
• Six Sigma Certification; Yellow Belt or higher (preferred).
• Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience (preferred).

Position Specific Description

NextEra Energy is seeking an experienced individual to be part of the High Voltage Operations team that supports our Generating Fleet in the areas of Electrical equipment and systems. The ideal candidate has high capability and drive for personal growth, well organized and process oriented, communicates effectively, and excels at building relationships with internal and external stakeholders. This role is primarily responsible for scheduling, planning/procurement, estimating and executing high voltage project related maintenance activities on NextEra Energy Resources (NEER) Transmission & Substation (T&S) equipment during overhauls and trouble/breakdown events in support of operational goals and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities include: long term project scope identification, planning and budgeting, procurement, managing cost performance of our projects and assets; interact with plant customers and external vendors to understand planning assignment specifics; coordinate planning activities with the High Voltage team to support reliability work activities and outage execution; maintain an effective interface with various fleet organizations relative to engineering and technical issues; perform walk-down equipment in various type wind and solar generating facilities; and manage large quantities of planning assignments for multiple sites with definitive due dates for deliverables. Due to the 24 hour, 7 day per week nature of power generation, night, weekend, and holiday support via telephone or call-out, may be required. This position will be based out of our Offices in the James Robo Campus (Palm Beach Gardens, FL). There is also flexibility to be located at a Renewables Site dependent on candidate qualifications and requires manager approval, with 10% travel.

Electrical equipment and system includes:

• Medium and High Voltage MCC
• Non-rotating and rotating DC electrical equipment
• Disconnect Switches
• Transformers
• Transmission Line Equipment

Preferred Requirements

• Experience with IBM Maximo or similar asset management software, SAP, Excel PowerPivot, and Microsoft Business Intelligence, and PowerBi
• Working knowledge and understanding of Transmission and Substations design
• Proficiency in technical writing and procedure writing techniques
• PMI Project Management Certification (preferred)
• Six Sigma Certification; Yellow Belt or higher (preferred)
• Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience (preferred)
