Job summary

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. (SEL) in Boise, ID seeks an Associate Power Engineer to deepen understanding of power systems, protection, and control. You will help develop product specifications, analyze tests, and support field engineers in customer applications.

You will also assist in writing and reviewing protection solutions for technical meetings, and contribute to literature and data sheets. Strong writing and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Typically 2+ years experience in electric power systems, protection practices, and philosophies.
  • Excellent technical training skills.
  • Working knowledge of apparatus and protective relay application at an electrical utility, industrial plant.
  • Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills.
  • Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities.
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.

Pay Range Data


  • Associate Power Engineer: $81,300 - $122,000

  • Power Engineer: $89,400 - $134,100

  • We are open to reviewing additional candidates with more or less experience and the pay range may differ if filled at a different level.

  • Our pay ranges are determined by job and responsibility.

  • We base our starting pay offer and title on job-related factors such as candidate experience, training, knowledge, and skills.
