Actalent seeks an experienced Firmware Engineer specializing in Power Electronics and embedded controls for fast-charging systems. The role focuses on developing real-time firmware, PFCs, chargers, DC/DC converters, and inverters, with emphasis on robust drivers and safety compliance.

Based in Campbell, CA, this contract position requires hands-on lab work, HIL testing (Typhoon), and strong debugging skills in RTOS environments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years proven experience developing Power Electronics products.
• Proficient in C/C++ on TI C2000 processors with Zephyr RTOS.
• HIL testing experience, Typhoon in particular.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement embedded controls for PFC, chargers, DC/DC, and inverters.
• Create device drivers for CAN, I2C, SPI, etc.
• Develop specifications, perform design reviews, and run unit tests.
• Demonstrate concepts via simulation and lab testing.
• Develop automated test cases for Hardware-In-Loop models.
• Stay current with digital control technologies and safety considerations.
