Job summary

Seneca Resources is seeking an entry-level Engineering Technologist to support power distribution projects across residential, commercial, and industrial facilities. Under supervision, you will learn design workflows, data entry, and technical skills for safe, cost-effective installations while visiting job sites and communicating status.

You will develop proficiency with design software and support both internal and external customer goals professionally, with mentoring and training provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Associate’s degree preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in non-engineering science, math, or business is also preferred.
• 0-1 year experience in power distribution engineering, craft, GIS, or CAD work.
• Ability to read and interpret procedural documents and write basic correspondence.
• Basic math skills including fractions, percentages, ratios, algebra, and geometry.
• Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions and handle standardized situations.
• Self-motivated, reliable, technically competent, and a team player with effective communication skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
• Valid driver’s license and suitable vehicle for business use (mileage reimbursed).
• Ability to participate in storm restoration activities if needed.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to safety policies, apply codes and regulations.
• Prepare project packages and conduct job site visits.
• Communicate job status to internal and external customers.
• Develop technical proficiency with design software.
• Support client design workflows and data entry.
• Learn and apply client workflows under supervision and mentoring.
