Job summary

Qualdoc is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to support the design, development, testing, and ongoing improvement of power distribution equipment, including switchboards and protection systems.

You will work hands-on with CAD tools, prototype testing, and certification processes, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver robust, safe products for customers and manufacturing partners.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience with CAD drafting software.
  • Experience designing power distribution equipment such as PDU, STS, RPP, and switchboards.

Responsibilities

  • Design electrical systems at the product level, including component selection and packaging concepts.
  • Develop power and control circuits for switchboards and other power distribution equipment.
  • Apply engineering principles across analog/digital circuitry, magnetics and thermal systems.
  • Create engineering specifications, schematics and BOMs.
  • Support integration and qualification of third-party devices into power distribution products.
  • Participate in hardware design reviews and evaluate product robustness.
  • Develop and support test procedures, technical reports, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Provide sustaining engineering support for power protection systems.
  • Troubleshoot electrical systems using hands-on diagnostic methods.
  • Assist with product safety certifications and testing through NRTL organizations (UL, CSA, IEC).
