Job summary

GlobalPoint in Charlotte, NC, is seeking a Power BI Developer for a long-term contract. You will design and deploy interactive dashboards and KPIs, translate business needs into technical solutions, and optimize data models using Power BI Desktop.

Responsibilities include ETL development, data source connectivity (SQL Server, Oracle, Snowflake, Azure, Excel), and ensuring performance and data governance. Strong analytic and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong experience with Microsoft Power BI including Desktop and Service.
• Proficiency in DAX and Power Query (M Language).
• Experience with SQL and relational databases.
• Solid data modeling knowledge (star schema, dimensional modeling).
• Understanding of ETL and data warehousing fundamentals.
• Experience with Azure Data Services, Snowflake, Databricks or cloud platforms.
• Knowledge of Row-Level Security (RLS) and report deployment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy interactive Power BI dashboards, reports, and scorecards.
• Gather and analyze business requirements and translate into technical solutions.
• Develop and optimize data models using Power BI Desktop.
• Create complex DAX measures, calculated columns, and KPIs.
• Develop and maintain ETL processes using Power Query and other tools.
• Connect Power BI to data sources such as SQL Server, Oracle, Snowflake, Azure, Excel, and APIs.
• Optimize report performance and ensure scalability of Power BI solutions.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, data analysts, and technical teams to deliver reporting solutions.
• Implement RLS and data governance standards.
• Troubleshoot issues and data discrepancies; perform data validation.
• Maintain documentation for dashboards, data models, and development processes.
