Description Of Project

The Minnesota Department of Information Technology Services (MNIT) partnering with Office of Higher Education (OHE) is seeking one full-time Power BI Developer to write/extract SQL queries, validate student loan data from various sources, construct Power BI visualizations, create and maintain business dashboards, remediate accessibility issues, provide ad hoc reporting capabilities, and migrate existing Tableau/Crystal reports to Power BI. In addition, this individual will need to set up and configure Power BI as it relates to the Power Platform environment and perform user-level training to the State.

At a high level the resource is expected to produce a stable, reliable and effective Power BI Service environment for reporting and create new complex Power BI custom UI visualizations according to specifications. The resource will conduct root cause analysis of loan related data issues and anomalies and elicit business requirements when business analyst is unavailable, this includes communication and documentation of business rules.

The resource will construct automation routines to export data to other mediums (e.g. Excel) and ensure all reports meet agency and performance requirements.

Additionally, the resource will configure and establish best practice security, accessibility, and access management controls around reporting environment, and develop data refresh strategies sourcing from Azure SQL Server and other applicable data sources.
