Job summary

Calfus is seeking a Power BI Developer to join our manufacturing-focused team in Burbank, CA. You will design and optimize reports, data models, and dashboards spanning production, supply chain, quality, and finance using ERP and manufacturing data sources.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in BI analytics, 3+ years Power BI development, strong DAX, SQL, and Power Query skills, and hands-on experience with production orders, BOMs, routings, WIP, and cost accounting. This is a 100% onsite role.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain Power BI datasets, reports, and dashboards for production, supply chain, quality, and finance teams.
• Design data models on top of manufacturing and ERP source data.
• Write and optimize DAX measures for production, inventory, and cost reporting.
• Build KPI reporting around throughput, yield, scrap, downtime, on-time delivery, inventory turns, and standard vs. actual cost.
• Write SQL views and Power Query transformations to feed the reporting layer.
• Set up row-level security by plant or business unit, plus refresh schedules and workspace governance.
• Collaborate with floor ops, quality, and finance leads to validate numbers against source systems.

About the Role

We're looking for a Power BI Developer who has worked inside a manufacturing environment. Aerospace manufacturing is preferred, but any discrete or regulated manufacturing background works.

The key requirement is domain fluency. You should already understand production orders, BOMs, routings, work centers, inventory movements, and cost variance, so you're not learning the business while you build the reports.

Location: Burbank, CA or nearby — 100% onsite

Eligibility: U.S. Citizens and Green Card holders only (ITAR Requirements)

What You'll Do

• Build and maintain Power BI datasets, reports, and dashboards for production, supply chain, quality, and finance teams.
• Design data models on top of manufacturing and ERP source data.
• Write and optimize DAX measures for production, inventory, and cost reporting.
• Build KPI reporting around throughput, yield, scrap, downtime, on-time delivery, inventory turns, and standard vs. actual cost.
• Write SQL views and Power Query transformations to feed the reporting layer.
• Set up row-level security by plant or business unit, plus refresh schedules and workspace governance.
• Work directly on the floor and with ops, quality, and finance leads to define metrics and validate numbers against source systems.

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years in BI or analytics, with 3+ years hands-on Power BI development.
• Manufacturing industry experience — you have built reporting for a plant or production operation.
• Working knowledge of manufacturing data: production orders, BOMs, routings, work centers, WIP, inventory transactions, and cost accounting basics.
• Strong DAX — you can build measures from scratch and debug someone else's.
• Dimensional modeling (star schemas, grain, relationships).
• Advanced SQL against large transactional tables.
• Power Query / M and Power BI Service administration.
• Able to work onsite in Burbank five days a week.
• S. Citizen or Green Card holder (ITAR requirement).

Preferred

• Aerospace or defense manufacturing background.
• Hands-on reporting experience against a manufacturing ERP (SAP, Oracle, Dynamics 365 F&O, Epicor, Infor, IFS, QAD, or similar).
• Exposure to MES, PLM, or quality systems as data sources.
• Tabular Editor, DAX Studio, VertiPaq Analyzer.
• Experience migrating SSRS, Crystal, or Excel reporting into Power BI.

Compensation:

Salary range: Between $120,000.00 to $145,000.00 per year. Pay is based on several factors including geographical locations but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc.
