STS Aerospace in Laconia, NH is seeking a Power Bend Trainee to join our team. This role focuses on the fabrication, shaping, bending, and assembly of metal parts for aircraft applications, working with engineering to develop layouts and fixtures.

You will operate fabricating machines such as benders, grinders, saws, cutters, presses, and collet swagers, verify tolerances, and ensure parts meet specifications. We value safety, teamwork, and precise workmanship.

Qualifications

• One year certificate from college or technical school or equivalent experience.
• Ability to read layouts and plans with attention to detail.
• Basic math skills to calculate ovality and arc lengths.

Responsibilities

• Work with engineering to develop layouts and sequence of operations.
• Set up and operate fabricating machines such as benders, grinders, saws, cutters, presses, and collet swagers.
• Cuts, deburrs, and sizes bent tubes to verify conformity using fixtures or mylars as needed.
• Positions, aligns, and fits parts together and verifies conformance to specifications.

This positionis responsible for the fabrication, shaping, bending, and assembly of metal products for aircraft applications. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Work with engineering to develop layouts and sequence of operations.
• Work with engineering to design and construct templates and fixtures.
• Locates and marks bending and cutting lines onto workpiece.
• Sets up and operates fabricating machines such as benders, grinders, saws, cutters, presses, and collet swager.
• Cuts, deburrs, and sizes bent tubes to verify conformity using fixtures or mylars as needed.
• Positions, aligns, and fits parts together.
• Verifies conformance of workpiece to specifications.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.
• The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
• Consistently, regularly and predictably at work and on time.
• Ability to perform basic mathematic equations to calculate ovality and arc lengths.
• Other duties may be assigned as needed

Education, Certifications, Licenses, & Registrations

One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
