Job summary

RTX’s Hardware Electrical Engineering Team seeks a junior Power & Analog Design Engineer II to support design, test and documentation of electronic circuits. You will work on circuit cards, assist integration in labs, and report progress to leadership in a growing defense-focused environment.

Ideally you have a STEM degree and 2+ years of related experience, plus RF/power/analog/digital expertise and circuit analysis tools.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Physics, Mathematics or related STEM field and 2+ years of relevant experience or an advanced degree.
  • Experience with RF, power, analog, digital, or mixed-signal circuit design or analysis and/or DSP.
  • Experience with analog lab equipment like waveform generators, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, or network analyzers.
  • Experience with simulation software for circuit analysis or modeling.

Responsibilities

  • Support design, analysis, test, and documentation of electronic circuits.
  • Support integration and verification activities in engineering labs.

What You Will Do
  • As a Power & Analog Design Engineer II, your responsibilitieswill include the following:
  • Support the design, analysis, test, and/or document of electronic circuits.
  • Support integration and verification activities in engineering laboratories.
  • Provide product test and troubleshoot support.
  • Understand and report execution status to the planned budget and schedule.
  • Function as an individual contributor.
  • Clearly present your work product to leadership.
  • Engage in professional growth and development.
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires aBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related STEM degree and a minimum of 2 years’ prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field.
  • Education or experience with any of the following: RF, power, analog, digital, and / or mixed signal circuit design or analysis and / or digital signal processing.
  • Education or experience with analog laboratory equipment such as waveform generators, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and/or network analyzers.
  • Education or experience with simulation software for circuit analysis or modeling.
Qualifications We Value
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Education or experience in Root-Cause Corrective Action investigations
  • Education or experience performing analog electrical engineering design.
  • Education or experience with any of the following tools: Mentor Graphics Designer, PSPICE, System Vision, MATLAB, Mathcad, IDL, Computer Simulation Technologies (CST), Microwave Design Studio, High Frequency Structure Simulator (HFSS), Advanced Design System (ADS), SABER RD, SIMPLIS, orxDXDesigner.
  • Design and/or Analysis education or experience with analog electronics design, including at least one of the following: Power supply topologies (buck, boost, buck-boost), FETs/BJTs, op-amp, high/low/band pass filters, clock/data termination, and comparator circuits.
  • Education or experience with subsystems integration and test, problem investigation, Statistical Process Control (SPC) methods in achieving production yield improvements, technical writing, formal presentation, and implementing Engineering Change Notices.
  • Education or experience supporting or executing Electronics CAD layouts for printed wiring or circuit boards.
  • Self-starterwho’scapable of working independently as well as with a small technical team. Providing technical oversight and direction, cost estimation, tracking & reporting, coordination, preparation of detailed technical team reports, and proposal support.
  • Desire to lead design efforts and/or small teams.
  • Ability to communicate project status with program leadership and/or customers.

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
