Job summary

ENOW in Jackson, MI is seeking a Powder Coating Technician to join our Production team. You will prepare, coat, cure, inspect, and finish products to ensure durable finishes that meet quality standards.

The ideal candidate has powder coating experience in manufacturing, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. This full-time, on-site role offers weekday hours 8:00am–5:00pm.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous powder coating experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, finishing, or coating facility.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

  • Ability to identify coating defects and take corrective action.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and prepare surfaces for powder coating.
  • Sand, grind, buff, and prepare surfaces for coating adhesion.
  • Apply powder coatings using spray guns and equipment.
  • Maintain coating thickness and finish quality according to specs.
  • Mix and match powder colors to meet requirements.
  • Load products into curing ovens and monitor temperatures.
  • Perform routine maintenance on coating equipment.
  • Maintain records of coating processes, colors, curing times, and quality checks.
  • Keep the coating booth and work area clean, safe, and organized.
  • Collaborate with production and quality teams to meet schedules.

Powder Coating Technician
ENOW | Production
Full-Time | Hourly | On-site
Schedule: Monday-Friday – 8:00am to 5:00pm

Summary

ENOW is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Powder Coating Technician to join our Production team. This role is responsible for preparing, coating, curing, inspecting, and finishing products to ensure high-quality, durable finishes that meet company and customer standards.

The ideal candidate has experience working in a manufacturing or coating environment and takes pride in producing quality work. This position plays an important role in maintaining product appearance, durability, and customer satisfaction while supporting production schedules and operational goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean and prepare surfaces for powder coating by removing dirt, grease, rust, and other contaminants
• Sand, grind, buff, and prepare surfaces to ensure proper coating adhesion
• Apply powder coatings using spray guns and other application equipment
• Ensure consistent coating thickness and finish quality according to specifications
• Mix and match powder coating colors to meet customer and production requirements
• Maintain inventory of powder coating materials and consumable supplies
• Set up, adjust, and operate powder coating equipment safely and effectively
• Perform routine preventative maintenance on coating equipment and systems
• Inspect coated products for defects, imperfections, or inconsistencies
• Make process adjustments to improve finish quality and production efficiency
• Load products into curing ovens and monitor curing temperatures and times
• Apply masking materials and protective coverings when required
• Maintain accurate records related to coating processes, color formulations, curing times, and quality checks
• Assist with quality control documentation and inspection activities
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized powder coating booth and work area
• Dispose of waste materials according to environmental and safety regulations
• Collaborate with production personnel, quality teams, and supervisors to meet production schedules
• Perform additional duties and projects as assigned

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Previous powder coating experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, finishing, or coating facility required
• Experience operating powder coating equipment preferred
• Manufacturing, metal fabrication, or industrial production experience is a plus

Work Schedule

This full-time position is scheduled Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm. Additional hours may be required based on production schedules and business needs.

This position operates in a manufacturing and production environment. Employees regularly work around powder coating equipment, spray booths, curing ovens, and production machinery. Frequent standing, walking, lifting, bending, reaching, and repetitive hand movements are required. Employees must follow all safety requirements and utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
