Job summary

Cornwell Quality Tools is seeking a Paint Technician to ensure product quality, durability, and appearance through powder coating processes and equipment maintenance. This hands-on role focuses on system operation, changes, bake times, and quality checks.

You will troubleshoot across mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, perform preventive maintenance, and document production activities. A technician with 2–4 years of related experience and strong detail orientation fits best.

Qualifications

• Vocational or technical training with 2–4 years related experience or equivalent.
• Knowledge of powder coating processes and equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with equipment maintenance and preventive maintenance.
• Ability to read and follow technical instructions, procedures, and documentation.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to use internal computer software and systems.
• Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Operate manual, semi-automatic, and robotic powder coating spray systems.
• Complete color changes, create spray recipes and sequences, and track changeover times.
• Set and monitor bake/cure oven temperatures and process times.
• Inspect finished surfaces for defects and verify film thickness.
• Perform pretreatment quality control testing and adjust out-of-spec parts.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment issues and make corrections.
• Perform preventive maintenance, cleaning and lubrication of equipment.
• Maintain spray equipment, fixtures, blast cabinets, tools and wear items.
• Identify coating defects and implement corrective actions.
• Develop and maintain programs for paint equipment and document production work.
