Job summary

A manufacturing company in Temple, TX is seeking an entry-level candidate for powder coating. Responsibilities include preparing surfaces, applying finishes, and inspecting quality. Location

Responsibilities
  • Prepare metal surfaces for finishing, including sanding, filling, masking, and cleaning.
  • Apply powder coating or paint finishes to cabinets, shelving, and related components.
  • Operate spray booths, finishing equipment, and drying/curing systems.
  • Ensure proper application of coatings, including even coverage, correct thickness, and smooth finish.
  • Inspect completed parts for quality, color accuracy, finish consistency, and durability.
  • Perform touch-ups and rework when needed.
  • Move and stage materials throughout the finishing area, including loading parts onto racks or conveyors.
  • Maintain a clean and organized finishing area, following safety standards and production procedures.
  • Communicate with the production team to coordinate workflow and meet daily schedules.
  • Properly handle and store finishing materials, chemicals, and equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in powder coating or industrial painting strongly preferred.
  • Ability to read and follow work orders, instructions, and color/finish specifications.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Must wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including APR suits, as required by the job.
  • Must successfully complete a pre-employment physical examination to ensure the ability to safely perform the essential functions of the job, including wearing PPE and operating finishing equipment.
Preferred Education
  • High School diploma is preferred, GED required.
  • We will consider additional experience in lieu of diploma.
Essential Physical & Environmental Requirements
  • Ability to work in non-climate-controlled environment, heat and cold.
  • Ability to use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. without assistance.
  • Ability to hear sounds and differentiate between them.
  • Ability to visually understand distance, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus, and have color vision.
