Job summary

Zehnder Rittling in South Buffalo seeks a skilled Powder Coat Paint Line Technician to manage and run the powder coating process, ensuring high-quality finishes on diverse products. You will operate and troubleshoot equipment, apply coatings, inspect finishes, and maintain safety standards in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include line maintenance, inventory management, documentation of batches, and continuous improvement to reduce waste and enhance product quality.

Qualifications

• Experience in powder coating, spray painting, or related manufacturing environment preferred.
• Knowledge of powder coating materials, processes, and equipment.
• Ability to inspect and maintain quality standards and troubleshoot coating systems.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor the powder coating line to meet specifications (temperature, time, thickness).
• Apply powder coating materials to substrates using electrostatic guns for even coverage.
• Inspect coated parts for defects, ensuring a uniform and smooth finish free of runs or sags.
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of booth, spray guns, wash tanks, ovens, and conveyors.
• Maintain proper pH and chemical composition of wash/rinse tanks.
• Adhere to safety protocols and environmental regulations; handle hazardous materials appropriately.
• Monitor and manage inventory of coating materials and consumables.
• Document production records including batch numbers and processing times.
• Suggest improvements to increase efficiency and product quality.
