Job summary

Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is assisting an established agricultural employer in their search for a Poultry Production Manager to oversee a layer operation. The manager will supervise employees and direct the proper operation, maintenance, and animal husbandry for the egg-producing farm.

The ideal candidate will have 2–4 years in poultry or a related Ag field, prior supervisory experience, and strong safety and reporting skills.

Qualifications

Degree in an Ag-related field or 3+ years poultry experience.
1+ years supervisory leadership in poultry production.
Basic preventative maintenance experience.
Read, write and speak English; bilingual Spanish a plus.
Ability to hire, train, motivate and retain a workforce.
Plan, execute and measure results.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Team-oriented with a can-do attitude.
Knowledge of general safety standards and risk management.

Responsibilities

Supervise daily operations of the production staff.
Monitor completion and accuracy of daily chore sheets.
Monitor environmental controls of barns and complex; implement corrective actions.
Monitor equipment; direct preventative maintenance program.
Ensure safe practices are followed by all employees.
Provide weekly production reports.
Maintain Animal Welfare documentation for audits.
Serve on-call for 24-hour alarm calls and address issues.
Ensure all employees complete training and safety courses.
Administer progressive discipline and conduct performance evaluations.
Other duties as assigned.
