Job summary

Aviagen is seeking a Clean-Out Crew Member to clean, sanitize, and prep poultry houses and equipment following SOPs and biosecurity standards. This role involves removing litter and debris, prepping areas for sanitation, and assisting equipment operators to maintain a clean, biosecure environment between flocks.

Work involves cleaning surfaces, handling detergents and sanitizers, and ensuring safety. You will need flexibility for varying shifts and locations within Aviagen’s operations.

Qualifications

• Previous agricultural experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions, SOPs, Work Instructions, safety requirements, and biosecurity procedures.
• Ability to safely work with approved detergents, disinfectants, sanitizers, and other cleaning chemicals.
• Ability to properly use hand tools and cleaning equipment associated with poultry house sanitation and clean-out activities.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, extended shifts, and up to six days per week when required by operational schedules.
• Ability and willingness to work at different poultry houses, farms, or operational areas as assigned.
• Ability to comply with all company safety, sanitation, biosecurity, and animal welfare requirements.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize poultry houses and designated areas.
• Remove litter, debris, and waste materials.
• Scrape and clean floors, walls, slats and other surfaces.
• Raise, lower, reinstall poultry house equipment as needed.
• Open/close poultry house doors to support clean-out operations.
• Follow PPE protocols and store cleaning products properly.
• Report sanitation, equipment, or safety issues to supervisor.
