Job summary

Mountaire Farms is offering an internship with our Veterinary Services team to research and analyze data on bird health, welfare, and biosecurity across Live Operations. You will work closely with Veterinary Services, Live Production, and Hatchery teams to collect and interpret serology, virology, necropsy, and embryo data from multiple facilities.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in or admitted to a DVM program with a poultry science background.
• Strong interest in poultry health, welfare, biosecurity, and broiler production.
• Proficient in Excel with ability to organize, analyze and interpret data.
• Excellent analytical, observational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Able to work independently and in a team in a fast-paced production environment.
• Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and travel as needed.
• Effective communicator, able to present findings to Veterinary Services and Live Operations.
• Valid Driver's license and ability to pass Mountaire Motor Vehicle Record check.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Collect and analyze serology, virology, necropsy, and embryo data across units to assess bird health and biosecurity.
• Research health and performance trends to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Assist Veterinary Services in evaluating vaccination and health programs for best practices.
• Collaborate with Veterinary Services and Live Production to identify factors affecting flock health.
• Present findings and recommendations to improve bird health, welfare, and broiler production outcomes.
