Job summary

Aviagen is seeking a Maintenance I associate to upkeep poultry houses, hatchery buildings, and related facilities. You will perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot, repair, and support systems to ensure safe, efficient operations on Aviagen farms.

The role requires independence, ability to prioritize, and hands-on skills with carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and equipment. You will work closely with farm management, follow safety and biosecurity policies, and participate in on-call

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous maintenance experience in agriculture, farming, poultry preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to safely operate power tools and read manuals/diagrams.
• Familiarity with Lockout/Tagout procedures and general workplace safety practices preferred.
• Must provide basic personal hand tools as listed.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and general repairs on poultry houses and facilities.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain agricultural equipment and facility systems to minimize downtime.
• Install and repair feed systems, water delivery, ventilation, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC equipment.
• Carry out routine carpentry, roofing, welding, and concrete work.
• Maintain maintenance records and inventory; follow safety policies and biosecurity protocols.
• Participate in on-call or emergency maintenance as needed.
