Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
• Must successfully pass a background check and drug screen.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.
• Comfortable with technology and able to communicate orally, in writing, and via email.
• Can travel to multiple farms in the Upper Cumberland area.

Responsibilities

• Collect environmental samples (dust, swab etc.) from farms.
• Assemble supplies necessary for sample collections.
• Obtain blood samples and prepare files for genomic lab testing.
• Ensure accuracy of samples for parental assignment.
• Assist with sample collection within biosecurity guidelines.
• Assist in basic laboratory work as requested by supervisor.
• Maintain inventory of DNA supplies to prevent delays.
• Prepare and pack samples for shipment.
• Perform routine departmental tests as directed by lab management.
• Adhere to bio-security, animal welfare, safety, ISO, drug and alcohol policies.
• Take on special projects as assigned by supervisor.
