Job summary

Aviagen is seeking a Farm Associate I to contribute to day-to-day poultry farm operations and animal care within the Aviagen poultry farm system. The role involves handling eggs, monitoring flock welfare, and maintaining sanitary conditions in the facility.

Responsibilities include gathering and grading eggs, recording data, operating in hatchery and processing areas, and adhering to safety, bio-security, and animal care standards in a physically demanding environment.

Qualifications

• Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills.
• Ability to stand for long periods (8+ hours).
• Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
• Animal husbandry experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Collect eggs and transfer flats to cooler room with careful handling.
• Grade eggs by category, size and condition; record counts.
• Monitor feed lines, drinkers, fans, and barn conditions for welfare.
• Maintain clean, sanitary egg wash/cooler rooms and equipment.
• Work with live poultry in hatchery and processing areas as trained.
• Follow safety, bio-security, and animal care guidelines.
