Job summary

Aventure Staffing in Plainview, NE is seeking an Avian Care Specialist to manage all daily poultry house tasks, ensuring a safe, clean environment and adherence to safety, animal care, and food quality standards.

The role includes feeding, water provisioning, temperature monitoring, litter maintenance, and flock turnover. The position requires lifting up to 50 lbs and physical stamina for long shifts.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and follow safety rules.
• Complete routine report forms.
• Perform basic math operations.
• Able to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Flock House Maintenance: provide feed and water, monitor temperatures, clean facilities, maintain litter, and manage turnover.
• Equipment & Facility Operations: keep feed chains, egg belts, lights, fans, motors, and guards clean and functional; report major repairs.
• Data & Documentation: keep precise daily UEP records for water, feed, mortality, ventilation, and flock population.
• Flock Care & Movements: daily mortality runs and assist with bird movements safely.
