Qualifications

  • 1–3 years retail sales experience with shift supervision preferred.
  • 1–2 years in home design, visual merchandising, and stockroom responsibilities preferred.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead visual merchandising and display; map and execute floor set targets.
  • Maintain daily routines to optimize markdowns, promotions, replenishment.
  • Collaborate with GM and DVM to adapt directives for store needs.
  • Analyze reporting to identify profitability opportunities.
  • Coordinate inventory needs to improve sell-through and margin.
  • Partner with GM on associate productivity related to visuals.
  • Ensure signage and visual supplies are organized.
  • Support seasonal workload planning and talent development.
  • Provide onboarding and training for the visual team.
  • Prioritize customer needs and connect guests with designers.

Overview Of The Lead, Visual Role

The Visual Merchandising Lead (Visual Lead) position will partner with management and District Visual Manager to execute the store’s visual merchandizing and display strategy. Model and coach associates on routines and disciplines that maximize productivity, achieve visual standards, and keep the store a neighborhood destination for inspiration.

Responsibilities
  • Lead visual merchandising and display. Partner with GM/DVM to map, plan and execute floor set timeline targets to drive sales and execute seasonal strategy.
  • Lead and maintain daily disciplines and routines that maximize efficient execution of markdowns, promotions/signage, replenishment and recovery.
  • Collaborates with GM and DVM on adaptations/substitutions from directives to account for stores ownership, layout or customer.
  • Analyze various reporting to look for opportunities to improve profitability and drive results.
  • Communicate inventory needs to DM and distribution in partnership with GM to increase sell-through and maximize margin (MMU) and profitability.
  • Partner with GM on associate productivity and performance related to visual standards.
  • Maintain all visual supplies and signage organization.
  • Partner with GM to ensure effective scheduling of seasonal workload planning.
  • Partner with GM to assess, recognize and motivate talent.
  • Serves as a learning partner and guide during associate onboarding. Facilitates visual training and skill building activities as required for visual team.
  • Model genuine and enthusiastic interest in the customer. Prioritize the needs of the customer by connecting customers to designers and addressing customer needs when an associate is not available.
  • Abide by all safety, security/injury and emergency policy and procedures.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain an environment where all associates are treated fairly and with dignity and respect, in accordance with our People First Philosophy.
  • Perform projects and assignments as directed by the GM.
Criteria
  • Effective communication, organization and leadership skills
  • Proven ability to motivate and influence others through personal actions and examples.
  • Ability to be active, standing, walking, bending, climbing, reaching and lifting for extended periods of time, required throughout the workday
  • 1-3 years retail sales experience with shift supervision experience preferred
  • 1-2 years experience in home related design, visual merchandising, and stockroom responsibilities preferred (specialty retail preferred, but not required).
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to be mobile on the sales floor for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to lift and mobilize medium to large items, up to 75 lbs., while utilizing appropriate equipment and safety techniques
  • Full time associates are expected to have open availability to meet the needs of the business.
