Job summary

The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) is seeking a Registered Nurse in the Women’s Services – Mom & Baby unit. This role focuses on compassionate, patient-centered care for new mothers and their families, within a collaborative multidisciplinary team.

The nurse will deliver evidence-based care, coordinate with physicians and therapists, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives. Expect to engage in shared governance and professional development while maintaining high standards

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current South Carolina RN license or Compact State RN license.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Preferred Previous Postpartum nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation).
• Deliver patient- and family-centered care addressing physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and educational needs.
• Coordinate care with physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members.
• Provide health education to patients and families to support recovery and understanding of care.
• Prioritize patient safety while maintaining a therapeutic and healing environment.
• Lead and collaborate with the nursing team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Participate in shared governance, peer review, and quality improvement initiatives.
