Job summary

The Christ Hospital Health Network is seeking a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) I to support patient care by helping with comfort, safety, and basic hygiene under RN delegation in accordance with Ohio nursing guidelines.

In this position you will collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare teams to provide compassionate care, orient new patients to the hospital, and assist with transitions during the hospital stay.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• 0–1 years of experience preferred or required as stated.
• AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers required.

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical tasks assigned by the RN, adhering to Ohio Board of Nursing delegation guidelines.
• Demonstrate key behavioral competencies such as effective communication, adaptability, teamwork, and personal accountability.
• Ensure patient and unit safety.
• Provide patient comfort and hygiene, documenting according to policy.
• Orient patients and families to the hospital environment and facilitate communication throughout hospitalization.
