Amerit Fleet Solutions in Austin, TX is hiring a Diesel & Automotive Technician/Mechanic to join our fleet maintenance team. This role focuses on preventive maintenance and repairs for light to medium duty fleet vehicles, with weekly pay and full benefits after 30 days.

The technician will diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, perform inspections for safety/compliance, document repairs, and maintain an organized workspace while adhering to safety policies.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ hands-on experience in diesel and automotive maintenance and repairs.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to own and maintain personal tools and toolbox.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to meet physical demands and safety requirements.
• Able to pass pre-employment screenings, including drug screen and DOT physical (if required).

Pay: $38.00 – $44.00/hour (based on experience) Pay Frequency: Weekly pay – every FridaySchedule: Tuesday - Friday: 1:00pm - 9:30pm | Saturday: 8:00am - 4:30pm

What We’re Looking For

• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to own and maintain the personal tools and toolbox required for the role
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• Willingness and ability to meet the physical demands of the position (detailed below)
• Must be eligible to pass standard pre-employment screenings, including drug screen and DOT physical (if required)

Working Conditions

This role involves working in a mobile, outside and/or shop environment with exposure to dust, diesel fumes, noise, and mechanical materials such as oils and greases. Technicians must be able to perform essential job functions that include frequent movement such as standing, walking, climbing, bending, and sitting for extended periods, as well as lifting heavy objects and accessing tight or confined spaces. This position requires regular use of hands to grasp, reach, handle, and operate tools and equipment. Technicians may be required to work at heights using ladders or elevated platforms and must be able to safely perform duties in various weather conditions. Due to the active work environment and movement of large vehicles, the ability to see and hear sufficiently to safely navigate the workspace is required.
