GUIDANCE COUNSELOR-SPANISH SPEAKING

We are seeking a talented, dynamic, and innovative Spanish speaking Guidance Counselor who has the passion of

supporting students through academic, personal and career advisement. The candidate must demonstrate a

commitment to innovation and interdisciplinary methods of counseling while collaborating with all stakeholders.

Duties include but are not limited to

• Support the social, emotional, and behavioral development of all students in the areas of self awareness, self management, social awareness, relationship skills.
• Assist in crisis response, conflict resolution and behavior intervention
• Monitor student schedule & make adjustments to ensure alignment with graduation, college/career readiness
• Develop & implement a comprehensive school counseling program aligned with ASCA National Model
• Support responsible decision making within the scope of the district’s long-term goals of increasing graduation rate, career goals and reducing chronic absenteeism.
• Participate in IEP, 504, and MTSS/RTI meetings as appropriate
• Other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• NYS School Counselor Certification;
• Demonstrated knowledge of high school graduation requirements, transcript evaluation, and post secondary planning;
