Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) seeks a PostgreSQL Database Architect to analyze, design, and support our database infrastructure for a sensitive intelligence customer. The role involves performance tuning, schema collaboration, and migrations, with a TS/SCI clearance and on-site work at customer locations in Springfield, VA or St. Louis, MO (preference for St.

Louis). You will manage servers, ensure security and RBAC, document configurations, and advise on best practices while

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree or equivalent in computer science or related field.
• Experience in PostgreSQL administration and tuning.
• Familiarity with RBAC, security and access control concepts.
• Experience with backups, restore, migration and snapshot strategies.
• Knowledge of high-availability solutions and performance tuning.
• Experience with Oracle, MySQL, and PostgreSQL migrations.
• Requires TS/SCI clearance.
• Location on customer site; US citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, design, develop, implement, and support database infrastructure deployment and management.
• Manage server groups across one or more OS.
• Maintain database integrity, security, and RBAC; configure admin/service accounts.
• Document configurations, standards, and procedures.
• Collaborate with developers on schema design, query optimization, and stored procedures.
• Plan and execute database upgrades, patches, and migrations.
• Evaluate tools and participate in modernization projects.
