Job summary

University of Southern California (ISI) invites applications for a post-doctoral position in Silicon Photonics focused on advanced computing architectures. The selected candidate will design, prototype, and test photonic devices and circuits enabling optical in-memory computing, collaborating with GlobalFoundries, AIM Photonics, and other partners.

You will lead MPW tapeouts, validate prototypes, publish results, and contribute to IP development while working with top-tier fabrication partners

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in a relevant field required.
• Strong background in integrated photonics including PIC design, layout and tapeout.
• Proficiency with photonic design/simulation tools and hands-on fabrication experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead PIC design and simulation using commercial tools.
• Contribute to novel photonic computing architectures and optical in-memory computing.
• Coordinate tapeout and fabrication with foundries.
• Characterize fabricated devices with optical/electrical setups.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and external partners for prototyping and validation.
• Contribute to publications, reports and IP development.
