Job summary

The Zepeda-Orozco Lab at Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus, OH is seeking a Research Fellow to advance onco-nephrology studies. The candidate will design experiments and protocols to study chemotherapy- and radiation-induced nephrotoxicity using preclinical models and human samples.

Under the mentorship of a CRI principal investigator or senior scientists, the fellow will analyze data, prepare manuscripts, and contribute to grant proposals while collaborating with Ohio State University

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent degree in a relevant field is required.
• Effective interpersonal skills for collaboration with scientists, physicians, and staff.
• Experience with qualitative and quantitative research methods and data analysis.
• Ability to proactively manage and drive research projects.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research under the guidance of a faculty mentor.
• Assist in training and supervision of technical staff in research activities.
• Record and analyze data generated by the studies; help formulate hypotheses for further work.
• Assist with preparing scientific papers for publication and present findings at forums.
• Collaborate with other ongoing research efforts at NCH or OSU.
• Work toward research independence and contribute to grant proposals.
