Job summary

The Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Carolina Population Center collaborates with the Global Food Research Program Co-Directors to study the impact of nutrition policies using large population datasets. The role emphasizes manuscript development, grant writing, and cross-disciplinary collaboration across the US and globally.

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent in nutrition, public health or related field.
• Must have training in nutrition, epidemiology, social science, and quantitative statistical methods.
• Must have first author publications with quantitative analyses.
• Must have experience in grant writing with demonstrated success.
• Experience with food and beverage purchase data.
• Demonstrated experience working on interdisciplinary teams.
• Fluency in Spanish, French or an Asian language is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare manuscripts and lead first-author publications.
• Develop new study ideas and incorporate into planned or new research.
• Assist with grant writing and lead own grant applications.
• Interact with collaborators on research design, implementation, and dissemination.
• Support development of presentations, policy briefs and other dissemination materials.
• Engage with external stakeholders including researchers and policymakers.
• Present research at international conferences and seminars.
• Mentor undergraduate or graduate students.
