Job summary

The Neuromodulation Research Center (NMRC) at the University of Minnesota seeks a postdoctoral associate to study Parkinson's disease pathophysiology using a progressive preclinical MPTP rhesus macaque model. The role emphasizes high density recordings and Neuropixel approaches across basal ganglia circuits to understand neural dynamics during motor signs and treatments.

Under supervision, the associate collaborates on an existing project with potential clinical exposure through the movement

Qualifications

  • PhD in Neuroscience, BME, ECE, or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Neural data collection and analysis using Neuropixel probes in a preclinical paradigm.
  • Develop methods and analyze neural recordings across basal ganglia circuits.
  • Supervise junior lab members and volunteers to ensure timely project completion.
  • Career development including leadership training and weekly mentor meetings.
  • Dissemination of research via abstracts, posters, and papers; travel may be required.
