Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent degree in relevant field required.
• Research experience from PhD program required.
• Effective interpersonal skills in interactions with scientists, physicians, and laboratory colleagues.

• Skills in qualitative and quantitative research methods.
• Ability to proactively manage and drive projects.

Responsibilities

• Designs experiments, develops protocols, and conducts research under the guidance of a faculty mentor.
• Assists in training and supervision of technical staff performing techniques essential to the research program.
• Records and analyzes data generated by the research study.
• Assists in developing hypotheses for further investigations from results.
• Assists with preparation of scientific papers for publication in peer‑reviewed journals.
• Presents findings at local and national research forums.
• Collaborates with other ongoing research efforts at NCH or The Ohio State University.
• Works toward independence, preparing to submit proposals to external granting agencies.
