The Schwartz Laboratory at Washington University in St. Louis is seeking motivated scientists to join its interdisciplinary HBV research program in Saint Louis, MO.

The goal is to understand viral persistence and identify strategies toward a functional cure for chronic hepatitis B through human models of infection and genome editing. Postdoctoral researchers will train under a faculty mentor, assist with grant preparation, design experiments, analyze data, and contribute to manuscripts while

Qualifications

• Ph.D., M.D. or equivalent terminal degree required.
• Prior postdoctoral or research experience in virology or HBV is preferred.
• Strong data analysis and scientific writing skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Trains under the supervision of a faculty mentor including (but not limited to):
• Assists with grant preparation and reporting.
• Prepares and submits papers on research.
• Assists in the design of research experiments.
• Evaluates research findings and assists in the reporting of the results.
• Conscientious discharge of their research responsibilities.
• Maintains conformity with ethical standards in research.
