The Nath Lab at the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation (OMRF) seeks a postdoctoral scientist or assistant staff scientist to join our multidisciplinary team studying how non-coding GWAS variants contribute to Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE). This position integrates immunology with cutting-edge genomic technologies and AI-driven predictions.

Qualifications

Ph.D. in biological sciences, M.D., or equivalent.
Strong experimental skills in molecular biology.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Strong publication record appropriate for career stage.

Responsibilities

Functionally characterize non-coding GWAS variants linked to SLE and autoimmune diseases.
Design and perform molecular biology experiments to study regulatory variant effects.
Conduct luciferase reporter assays; minigene splicing assays; CRISPR genome editing.
Analyze gene expression (RT-qPCR, RNA-seq) and protein expression (Western blot).
Assess chromatin and regulatory features; study 3D chromatin interactions.
Culture and manipulate human immune cell lines and primary immune cells.
Run flow cytometry and cytokine profiling; assess T-cell activation, proliferation, apoptosis.
Collaborate with computational biologists to integrate GWAS and AI-based predictions.
Analyze data and contribute to publications and grant applications.
