Position Overview & Responsibilities

The Ahamed Lab in the Cardiovascular Biology Research Program is seeking a motivated and talented Postdoctoral Scientist to study the role of TGF beta in organ fibrosis and cardiovascular disease This position offers an opportunity to work at the intersection of molecular signaling vascular biology and translational medicine Our research is grounded in a strong foundation of published work Antioxid Redox Signal 2021 PMID 34619980; AIDS 2020 PMID 32167970; Blood Adv 2019 PMID 30846427; Blood 2012 PMID 22134166

  • Designing and conducting in vitro and in vivo experiments related to TGF beta signaling pathways
  • Analyzing data using relevant molecular cellular and biochemical techniques
  • Collaborating with lab members and external partners to advance project goals
  • Preparing manuscripts figures and presentations for publication and scientific meetings
  • Contributing to grant applications and progress reports
  • Maintaining accurate and up to date laboratory records
  • Participating in journal clubs lab meetings and other professional development activities
Minimum Qualifications
  • PhD in a biological science chemistry physics or other relevant area
  • MD or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in in vivo mouse models with microsurgical procedures and ultrasound imaging techniques preferred
