Job summary

A well-known research institution is seeking a Postdoctoral Scholar to conduct innovative research on sentencing policies. The candidate will collaborate closely with the Pennsylvania Commission on Sentencing and participate in independent research. A Ph.D. in a related field is required. Candidates with advanced statistical training and experience with large datasets will be prioritized. This fully funded position begins July 1, 2026, and offers opportunities for applied research and graduate student mentoring.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. must be obtained at the time of appointment.
• Prefer candidates with interests in applied research, courts, or sentencing.
• Must be able to prepare grant proposals and conference presentations.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Pennsylvania Commission on Sentencing.
• Assess sentencing policy and conduct program evaluations.
• Assist in data collection and management.

Skills

Advanced training in statistics

Experience with large administrative datasets

Knowledge of program evaluation

Education

Ph.D. in criminal justice, criminology, sociology, economics, public policy, or related field
