Job summary

Arizona State University is seeking a full-time, benefits-eligible postdoctoral scholar in the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice (SCCJ) based in Phoenix, AZ. The role focuses on evaluation and data infrastructure for a multi-project grant, with opportunities to lead policy-relevant research alongside court and agency partners.

The successful candidate will work under PIs and supervise student assistants, contributing to reports, publications, and dissemination to stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in criminology, criminal justice, psychology, or a related social-scientific field.
• Commitment to inclusion per ASU Charter.
• Experience with advanced quantitative methods and predictive modeling.
• Experience managing, cleaning, integrating, and analyzing large administrative/longitudinal datasets.
• Proficiency in statistical programming software (R, Stata, or similar).

Responsibilities

• Oversee the comprehensive data management and cleaning infrastructure and manage cross-project integration for all four primary research projects.
• Lead advanced statistical analyses required for statewide risk assessment validations, including general juvenile risk tools and violence risk assessments.
• Manage statewide data collection efforts and conduct landscape analyses for staff and family surveys and provider evaluation frameworks.
• Provide day-to-day project management to ensure methodological rigor and timely completion of milestones.
• Co-author technical reports, project deliverables, and technical publications.
• Present project results to internal partners and external agency stakeholders.
• Supervise, train, and manage daily tasks of Graduate and Undergraduate Student Assistants.
• Liaise with ASU departments, the Arizona Administrative Office of the Courts, and outside collaborators to ensure project success.
