Job summary

The Data Science Institute at the University of Chicago invites applications for Postdoctoral Scholars who wish to advance cutting-edge AI and data science theory, methods, systems and applications in research. This program provides up to three years with annual renewal and a competitive salary with research funds.

Scholars will conduct independent and joint research with mentors, and gain professional development while engaging with a vibrant campus ecosystem and industry partnerships.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. required at time of appointment.
• Applicants may only submit one application.
• Experience in data science, AI, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Independent Research: Scholars will have the freedom to pursue their own research interests, with a majority of time on scholar-driven projects and no teaching duties.
• Joint Research with Mentor: Scholars will lead and execute collaborative work on cutting-edge research with mentors across fields.
• Professional Development: Training in mentoring/outreach, communicating research to broad audiences, and pursuing funding opportunities.
