The Department of Molecular Biosciences at the University of South Florida (Tampa campus) is hiring one (1) Postdoctoral Scholar Research for a 12-month appointment period.

Supervisor: Kristina Schmidt. Estimated Start date: November 16, 2026. Salary: $63,480. Responsibilities include DNA replication/repair and chromatin-related studies in a collaborative environment. Qualifications require a PhD and relevant field experience.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree from an accredited institution and appropriate training in cell/molecular biology, biochemistry, microbiology or similar.
• Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Postdoctoral Fellow.
• Preferred: experience with yeast or human cell culture and standard molecular biology/genomics techniques.
• Preferred: genome editing, proteomics, or next-gen sequencing approaches.

Responsibilities

• DNA replication and replication stress study.
• DNA repair and recombination work.
• RecQ family helicases and other DNA helicases analysis.
• Bloom syndrome and other chromosome instability disorders research.
