Continuation past the term length discussed will be based on university need, performance, and/or availability of funding. **POSITION SPECIFICS**The laboratory of Assistant Professor Lukas Muechler in the Department of Chemistry at The Pennsylvania State University, seeks to fill one **postdoctoral research** position in the field of computational and theoretical chemistry.Research will involve the modeling of molecular materials based on model and ab-initio calculations. Projects will include, but are not limited to, and the topological characterization of molecules and chemical reactions as well as development of structure-to-property rules and nonadiabatic dynamics for electrocyclization reactions.The ideal postdoctoral candidate will have extensive experience in one or more of the following fields: computational chemistry, multi-reference quantum chemistry, nonadiabatic dynamics or metadynamics.The applicant must have recently received, or be scheduled to receive, a Ph.D. in an area broadly relevant to our research program by the time employment starts. The individual should be highly self-motivated and is expected to lead their own individual projects as well as contribute to collaborative research efforts.
