Job summary

The Spellman Lab at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine is seeking postdoctoral researchers to study the physiological, anatomical, and computational circuit mechanisms that support executive function in the mammalian brain.

Our work spans basic and translational neuroscience, with a particular interest in how populations of neurons in the prefrontal cortex and interconnected brain regions represent and update information needed for flexible behavior, and how these circuit

Qualifications

  • A PhD in neuroscience or a closely related field is required.
  • Experience with in vivo imaging in awake, behaving rodents is preferred.
  • Strong ability to communicate scientific ideas clearly.

Responsibilities

  • Design and conduct experiments on prefrontal circuits and cholinergic dynamics.
  • Analyze neural population activity using computational methods.
  • Contribute to NIH-funded projects and collaborative training.
