Qualifications

  • PhD required.
  • Demonstrated experience writing research proposals, mentoring graduate students, and publishing in high quality peer-reviewed journals.
  • Experience working with real environmental samples, e.g. soils, plants.
  • Strong laboratory skills and working knowledge of solid phase characterization methods for metals.
  • Experience performing industry-sponsored research is also desirable.
  • Effective English language oral and written communication skills required.
  • A combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Interact with interdisciplinary research teams on environmental chemistry projects.
  • Assist with proposal writing, mentoring, publishing, and maintaining good industry-university relationships.
  • Design and conduct experiments, prepare manuscripts and reports, and present findings.
  • Other duties as assigned.
