Lamar University invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate with CMMS to advance midstream energy research through experimental design, data analysis, and field studies. The role blends lab work with field deployments and requires collaboration across a multidisciplinary team.

The successful candidate will design and execute experiments, operate research equipment, develop analysis tools, and contribute to sponsor deliverables while building new research methods for pipelines,

Qualifications

• Terminal degree in engineering, physics, chemistry, or closely related STEM with PhD or DE.
• Experience conducting experimental or applied research in academic, lab, field, or industrial settings.
• Ability to plan experiments, collect and analyze data, and document research methods and results.
• Experience preparing technical reports, presentations, or peer-reviewed publications.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Background in mathematics up to PDEs and Helmholtz equation applications.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet sponsor requirements.
• Willingness to travel for field research across the Nation.
• Ability to present results at workshops and conferences.

Responsibilities

• Conduct applied research in CMMS-sponsored and faculty-led projects.
• Design experiments, develop methods, and evaluate new technologies.
• Operate, calibrate, and troubleshoot lab and field measurement equipment.
