Job summary

Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Institute, within the Division of Population Medicine at Harvard Medical School, seeks a Research Fellow to lead and manage multi-institutional research projects using real-world data. You will work with faculty, researchers, and staff, contributing to grant preparation, study design, data analysis, and manuscript preparation for publication in medical journals.

Remote work may be possible as required.

Qualifications

• Introductory knowledge of scientific research methods and biostatistics.
• Ability to learn techniques for analyzing complex data.
• Sound knowledge of computer systems, including word processing and spreadsheet software.
• Resilient, collaborative, flexible, innovative.

Responsibilities

• Design research study and protocols, including creating detailed timelines, meeting with faculty and staff collaborators, planning for technical and data support, and creating survey instruments.
• Prepare proposal for obtaining research funding & Sponsored Program Application including compiling documentary material for human studies review.
• Provide day-to-day management for research projects, including overseeing the activities of research assistants, data collection, developing plans, conducting data analysis.
• Manage database design and development.
• Prepare manuscripts detailing research findings and submit findings to peer-reviewed medical journals.
• Perform out-of-the-box thinking, collaborate with others, and make a difference every day!
• Other duties and projects as assigned.
